IL HB2612

Expands the prohibition on political fundraising by state officials and candidates to apply statewide throughout Illinois, rather than only in Sangamon County.

Prohibits executive branch constitutional officers, General Assembly members, candidates for these offices, political caucuses, and related political committees from holding fundraising functions on any day the legislature is in session.

Eliminates previous exceptions that allowed fundraising during specified periods (June 1 through the first day of fall veto session) and for legislators whose districts are entirely within Sangamon County.

Defines "legislature in session" to exclude perfunctory session days and days when only committees are meeting.
