IL HB2748

Allows students with individualized education programs (IEPs) who turned 22 during COVID-19 in-person instruction suspensions of 3 months or more to continue receiving services through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Does not apply to students who are no longer residents of the school district responsible for their IEP when they reached age 22.

Requires resumption of IEP goals that were in effect when the student turned 22, unless revised by agreement to meet current transition needs.

Exempts school districts from resuming private therapeutic day or residential programs if the student aged out of the program or funding is no longer available.

Requires school districts to notify eligible students and their parents or guardians of service availability within 30 days of the law's effective date.
