• Amends the Election Code to prohibit State Board of Elections members and their spouses from serving as officers of political committees or directing the actions or use of funds of political committees.

• Requires State Board of Elections members to dissolve any political committee associated with them as a candidate for office prior to their appointment to the Board.

• Violation of these prohibitions disqualifies a Board member and creates a vacancy on the Board.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
