HB2841 Summary

• Prohibits members of the General Assembly, persons appointed with Senate advice and consent, and heads of state departments/agencies who take office after the bill's effective date from registering as lobbyists or engaging in lobbying with General Assembly members for 3 years after leaving office.

• Adds new subsection (h-5) to the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act establishing the 3-year post-employment lobbying restriction for specified state officials.

• Applies to individuals taking office on or after the effective date of this 102nd General Assembly amendatory act.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
