IL HB2857

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to add a definition of "road test" as an in-person examination demonstrating a driver's ability to exercise ordinary and reasonable control of a motor vehicle.

Exempts first-time driver's license applicants from the road test requirement if they successfully complete a certified driver's education course from a public school, nonpublic school, or private training school.

Maintains existing examination requirements including eyesight testing, knowledge of traffic laws and safety practices, and written examinations for all applicants.

Preserves the requirement that applicants 75 years of age or older must still demonstrate actual ability to safely operate a motor vehicle regardless of driver's education course completion.
