Amends the University of Illinois Act to add police officers and fire officers killed in the line of duty as eligible for honorary county scholarships, beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year.

Each county may award one honorary scholarship annually to children of police officers or fire officers killed while employed by or in voluntary service to the State or any local public entity in Illinois.

Counties must choose to award scholarships either under the existing veterans provision (subsection a) or the new police/fire officer provision (subsection b), but not both.

Scholarship recipients must pass public examination demonstrating proficiency in secondary school subjects, be of good moral character, be at least 15 years old, and receive free tuition for at least 4 consecutive years.

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
