HB2918 - COVID-19 Immunity Act

• Provides civil liability immunity for individuals, businesses, and units of local government for COVID-19 exposure injuries if their actions or omissions complied with federal or state regulations, executive orders, or applicable guidance at the time of exposure.

• Defines "guidance" as written COVID-19 guidelines issued by the CDC, OSHA, Illinois Department of Public Health, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, or other state agencies.

• When multiple sources of guidance apply, defendants are protected if their conduct is consistent with any applicable guidance.

• Immunity does not apply to willful misconduct, reckless infliction of harm, or intentional infliction of harm, and does not affect workers' compensation rights.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
