IL HB2935

Amends the Election Code to require the State Board of Elections to create a policy for chain of custody and secure storage of vote by mail ballots to be implemented by all election authorities.

Mandates procedures for destroying a ballot when a voter returns a mail ballot and also votes in person at the same election.

Requires election authorities to report the number of vote by mail ballots received, rejected, or destroyed due to in-person voting.

Establishes a public database for publishing data submitted by election authorities regarding vote by mail ballot statistics.
