IL HB2974

Amends the Downstate Teachers Article of the Illinois Pension Code to prohibit employers from making employee contributions on behalf of employees, except to facilitate pre-tax contributions.

Exempts existing employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements in effect on the effective date from the prohibition.

Requires subject contracts and agreements to comply with the prohibition if they are subsequently modified, amended, renewed, or remain in effect 3 or more years after the effective date.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
