• School districts may maintain on-site trauma kits at each school containing tourniquets, compression bandages, hemostatic dressings, protective gloves, markers, scissors, and instructional documents from the Stop the Bleed campaign or American College of Surgeons.

• Products purchased for trauma kits shall be manufactured in the United States whenever possible.

• School boards must conduct in-service training for all school district employees on trauma response methods at least once every 2 years, including instruction on responding to life-threatening bleeding and using trauma kits.

• Schools may satisfy training requirements using programs from the American College of Surgeons or similar organizations, including online training options.

• School district employees are granted civil liability immunity for trauma kit use unless the action constitutes willful or wanton misconduct.
