IL HB3025

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to add epilepsy treatment services alongside behavioral health and medical services covered under Medicaid telehealth provisions.

Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to reimburse epilepsy specialists authorized by Illinois law who provide telehealth services to persons with epilepsy or related disorders.

Mandates the Department establish rules for epilepsy telehealth reimbursement criteria, including appropriate facilities and equipment at both sites, and a method to reimburse providers for epilepsy treatment services delivered via telehealth.

Maintains existing requirements that a licensed health care professional be present at the patient's location during telehealth services, but prohibits requiring the professional to be physically present in the same room for the entire service duration.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
