IL HB3152

Amends the Illinois Procurement Code Section 25-75 to add new subsection (b-10) requiring vehicles purchased with State funds to be electric or hybrid (electricity and gasohol) when the cost is less than 10% more than comparable gasoline-fueled vehicles.

Applies to hybrid vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles that meet the cost threshold requirement.

Chief Procurement Officer retains authority to exempt certain vehicle procurements based on intended use or reasonable considerations such as health and safety of Illinois citizens.

Maintains existing requirements for flexible fuel vehicles and fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles from prior law, along with diesel biodiesel (B5) fuel requirements and 15% electric/alternative fuel vehicle purchase targets for passenger vehicles.
