IL HB3153

Amends the Illinois Pension Code Section 2-156 to prohibit pension benefits for General Assembly members who first become members on or after the bill's effective date and are convicted of any felony.

Maintains existing restrictions that deny benefits to members convicted of felonies relating to or arising from their service, and denies survivor benefits to those convicted of felonies connected to the member's service.

Applies new felony conviction restriction to all new members regardless of whether the felony relates to their service as a member.

Protects vested rights and contracts acquired before July 11, 1955, and before the effective dates of prior amendatory acts.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
