Creates the position of Statewide PTSD Mental Health Coordinator under the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board, appointed by the Governor with Senate consent for a 4-year term.

Requires the Coordinator to be an active duty law enforcement officer with established experience in patrol, detective work, and both urban and rural settings.

Coordinator must develop and disseminate evidence-based mental health training including resilience training, trauma-based training, and family support programs for law enforcement.

Coordinator shall establish a statewide reference list of medical professionals providing evidence-based trauma treatment and cooperate with police agencies to create peer support programs.

Coordinator will work with state universities to develop training and research documentation, set continuing education standards in mental health, and report to the Board on program implementation.
