IL HB3193

Allows election authorities to reduce the number of judges of election in each precinct from 5 to 3 for any election, except in counties with a population of at least 3,000,000 or where election judges are selected by election commissioners.

Changes the requirement for boards of election commissioners in certain cities, villages, and incorporated towns from selecting 5 judges of election to selecting no less than 3 judges of election for each precinct.

Maintains existing provisions for political party representation among judges, adjusting the balance from 3-2 split (when 5 judges) to 2-1 split (when 3 judges).

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
