Registration must include weapon description with identification marks, owner's full name, address, date of birth, sex, height, weight, eye color, hair color, and Illinois driver's license or ID number; registrations submitted electronically through a public-facing online application.

Illinois State Police may charge a registration fee not exceeding reasonable processing costs, with fees deposited into the State Police Firearm Services Fund.

Violation of registration requirements is a Class A misdemeanor; defines "assault weapon" to include semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns with specific features or from a detailed list of named models.
