HB3239 - Use of Force Data Collection Act

• Requires all State, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies to mandate written reports from officers for every use of force incident, including officer-involved injuries.

• Establishes a publicly accessible report that law enforcement agencies must maintain and update with use of force incident information.

• Mandates inclusion of discipline records identifying officers who have been disciplined as a result of use of force incidents.

• Requires agencies to publish the previous month's use of force report on the first day of each month.

• Takes effect July 1, 2021.
