Increases maximum compensation award from $27,000 to $45,000 for crimes committed on or after August 7, 2022.

Extends applicant response time from 30 days to 45 days to submit materials substantiating their claim when requested by the Attorney General.

Allows Attorney General to issue emergency awards for funeral, burial, and relocation expenses without the previous $2,000 cap limit.

Expands who may constitute "cooperation" with law enforcement for certain crimes (human trafficking, sexual abuse, stalking) to include obtaining protective orders or seeking medical/evidence collection.

Changes effective date of amendments from January 1, 2021 to January 1, 2022 for provisions related to victim definitions, compensation procedures, and application requirements.
