• Electronic FOID cards must contain security features determined by Illinois State Police to ensure accuracy, currency, and compliance with form and content requirements.

• Display or possession of a valid electronic FOID card in compliance with Illinois State Police requirements satisfies all legal requirements for possession of a physical FOID card.

• Possession or display of an electronic FOID card on a mobile device does not constitute consent for law enforcement or courts to access other contents of that device.

• Illinois State Police may adopt rules to implement the electronic FOID card system.
