IL HB3368

Amends the School Code to create a new exemption for high school students from taking the State's final accountability assessment during public health emergencies or epidemics.

Students qualify for the exemption if a gubernatorial disaster proclamation is in effect, their county is subject to the proclamation, their school has implemented remote or blended remote learning, and their parent or guardian certifies the student is immunocompromised, lives with someone immunocompromised, or is a caretaker for an immunocompromised person.

Students meeting all four conditions can receive a regular high school diploma without taking the State's final accountability assessment or its approved alternate assessment.

The bill does not affect existing exemptions for students in adult education programs or other State Board-identified exempt categories.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
