IL HB3390

Amends the Toll Highway Act to require the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to obtain a search warrant before disclosing personally identifiable information to law enforcement agencies.

Mandates the Authority notify individuals within 5 days when their records have been obtained and provide them with a copy of the search warrant and identity of the requesting law enforcement agency or peace officer.

Removes previous authorization allowing the Authority to release personally identifiable information in response to warrants, subpoenas, or lawful court orders without additional restrictions.

Maintains existing exceptions allowing information sharing for aggregated traveler data, interoperability compliance, billing and toll enforcement, and emergency situations where obtaining a warrant would be impractical.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
