IL HB3395

Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to add firearm convictions as grounds for bail denial in felony cases.

Denies bail to defendants with 2 or more prior convictions for firearm offenses when charged with a felony offense, following a court hearing.

Requires the court to determine that release would pose a real and present threat to physical safety before denying bail based on prior firearm convictions.

Maintains existing bail denial provisions for capital offenses, life imprisonment sentences, mandatory imprisonment sentences, stalking, weapons violations near schools, and terrorist threats.
