Prohibits individuals who simultaneously hold an elected county office in a county with a population of 500,000 or more and an elected township office from collecting salary and benefits from both positions

Requires dual office holders to accept only the salary and benefits from whichever position pays the lower salary of the two

Exempts violations of this dual compensation restriction from the Class 4 felony penalties that apply to other violations of the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act

Applies specifically to Lake County and Cook County, which are the Illinois counties with populations exceeding 500,000
