School districts must adopt and implement a policy addressing child sexual abuse by July 1, 2022, including age-appropriate and evidence-informed curriculum for students in pre-K through 12th grade (expanded from previous 5th grade limit).

Policies shall include evidence-informed training for school personnel on recognizing, reporting, and responding to child sexual abuse and grooming behaviors, to be provided annually by January 31st.

School districts must provide parents/guardians with educational information about warning signs of abuse, definitions of grooming and boundary violations, and available resources through school handbooks.

Policies shall address counseling and support services for affected students, methods for reporting abuse to law enforcement and the Department of Children and Family Services, and information about children's advocacy centers and sexual assault crisis centers.

This amendment is referred to as Erin's Law and takes effect upon passage.
