• Establishes a recall election procedure for the Mayor of Chicago, requiring a petition signed by at least 15% of votes cast in the preceding mayoral election with minimum 50 signatures from each ward.

• Recall petition affidavit can only be filed no sooner than 6 months after the Mayor's term begins and must be signed by the petition proponent and at least 2 aldermen.

• If the Mayor is recalled by majority vote in the special recall election, a special successor primary election occurs 60 days later, with a runoff election within 60 days if no candidate receives a majority.

• The Vice Mayor serves as acting Mayor until a successor is elected through the primary or runoff election process.

• Once a recall petition is certified, no other recall petition can be initiated against the Mayor for the remainder of their term, and any pending recall becomes void if a regular mayoral election occurs.
