IL HB3515

Amends the Military Veterans Assistance Act to establish annual notice requirements for Veterans Assistance Commissions beginning January 1, 2017, requiring commissions to call on military veterans organizations to select delegates and alternates within 60 days.

Permits each post, camp, unit, chapter, or detachment of a military veterans organization to select one delegate and one alternate to the Veterans Assistance Commission.

Allows counties with 5 or more posts, camps, units, chapters, or detachments of the same military veterans organization to select a single delegate and alternate to represent that entire organization instead of individual units.

Enables multi-county military veterans organizations to select one delegate and one alternate for each Veterans Assistance Commission in counties where at least 25% of the organization's members reside.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
