IL HB3613

Reduces mandatory minimum sentence for first degree murder from 20 years to 15 years imprisonment, with sentences ranging from 15 to 60 years or natural life.

Decreases mandatory minimum sentences across all felony classes: Class X felonies from 6 to 4 years, Class 1 felonies from 4 to 2 years, Class 2 felonies from 3 to 1 year, Class 3 felonies from 2 to 1 year.

Eliminates extended term sentencing provisions for Class X, Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and Class 4 felonies.

Expands eligibility for probation, periodic imprisonment, and conditional discharge by removing Class X felonies from the list of offenses where these alternatives are prohibited.

Makes Class X felonies subject to the same probation and alternative disposition rules as lower felony classes, except for certain violent offenses.
