IL HB3731

Amends the Department of Innovation and Technology Act to require the Department to ensure security of social media and Internet presence for State elected officials and agencies.

Directs the Department to reserve State government online accounts (social media and email) for use only by State officials, State agencies, and their employees to prevent false personation.

Requires the Department to adopt all necessary rules for implementation of these security measures.

Defines "false personation" to have the same meaning as provided under Section 17-2 of the Criminal Code of 2012.
