Amends Section 11-1204 of the Illinois Vehicle Code concerning stop and yield signs at intersections.

Modifies requirements for drivers approaching stop signs to stop at a clearly marked stop line first, then before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection if no line exists, then at the point nearest the intersection where the driver has a view of approaching traffic.

Clarifies yield sign requirements, stating drivers must stop if required for safety before entering the crosswalk or at the nearest point where they can see approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway.

Maintains existing exceptions for drivers directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic control signal.
