IL HB3990

Amends the Freedom of Information Act to add Section 7.5(bbb), making information exempt from disclosure under Section 40 of the Reproductive Health Act.

Adds Section 40 to the Reproductive Health Act establishing privacy protections for health care professionals providing abortion-related care.

Allows health care professionals to submit written requests to governmental agencies, persons, businesses, or associations requesting non-disclosure of their personal information, with requests valid until revoked in writing.

Requires governmental agencies to remove personal information from publicly available content within 5 business days of receiving a request and prohibits posting such information unless the health care professional provides written consent.

Requires persons, businesses, or associations to remove personal information from the Internet within 72 hours of receiving a request and prohibits transfer of that information to other entities; makes it a Class 3 felony to knowingly post personal information that poses an imminent and serious threat to the health or safety of the health care professional or their immediate family.
