IL HB4218

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to require underwear provided to committed persons be free of charge and available upon request, including multiple requests or as needed.

Mandates menstrual hygiene products (tampons and sanitary napkins) be available free of charge to all incarcerated individuals who menstruate at all Department institutions and facilities.

Requires the Department to issue standardized written visitation policies for each facility covering visit frequency, hours, and identification requirements for visitors.

Prohibits the Department from restricting or limiting in-person visits based on availability of video conferencing services.

Requires the Department to post daily on its website any visitation restrictions or denials for the current day and the following five calendar days.
