Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to change how community spouse resource allowances are calculated in medical assistance cases.

Requires the community spouse resource allowance to be set at the maximum amount permitted under federal Social Security Act Section 1924(f)(2)(A)(ii)(II), replacing the previous fixed floor of $109,560.

Requires the monthly maintenance allowance for community spouses to be set at the maximum amount permitted under federal Social Security Act Section 1924(d)(3)(C), replacing the previous fixed floor of $2,739 per month.

In both cases, allows these amounts to be superseded by amounts established after a fair hearing or amounts transferred by court order from the institutionalized spouse, whichever is greater.

Removes the requirement for federal approval before implementing these provisions.
