IL HB4276

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding Section 11-1511.5 regarding bicycle operation at stop signs.

Defines "immediate hazard" as a vehicle approaching an intersection at proximity and speed sufficient to indicate reasonable danger of collision or accident.

Allows a bicycle operator to proceed through a stop sign without stopping if they slow to a reasonable speed and yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, other traffic, and oncoming vehicles posing an immediate hazard.

Prohibits this proceeding exception at intersections with active railroad grade crossings, which require full stops.
