Insurance producers must complete 24 hours of continuing education before each 2-year license renewal, with 3 hours required to be classroom or webinar ethics instruction.

Active participation in State or national professional insurance associations may be approved for up to 4 hours of continuing education credit per biennial reporting period, verified and submitted by the association.

Active participation in professional associations is defined as service on a board of directors, formal committee, or formal subcommittee/task force of a State or national chapter.

Association-provided continuing education credit cannot be used to satisfy the 3-hour ethics education requirement.

An individual producer whose license lapses may reinstate within 12 months without retesting, but must pay a penalty equal to double the unpaid renewal fee after the due date.
