Municipalities that use nonpartisan primary and general elections must notify the State Board of Elections within 90 days after the bill's effective date.

Municipalities that adopt or rescind nonpartisan election procedures after the effective date must promptly notify the State Board of Elections.

The State Board of Elections shall publish and maintain a list of all municipalities that nominate and elect candidates in nonpartisan primary and general elections.

Reliance on the State Board's published list provides a legal defense against objections claiming candidate petitions incorrectly indicated whether an office is nonpartisan or partisan.
