IL HB4431

Establishes a local government revenue reimbursement program administered by the Department of Transportation to compensate counties, municipalities, townships, and villages for revenue lost during road, highway, or interstate construction projects initiated by the Department.

Requires local governments to submit reimbursement requests within 90 days after project completion, using a Department-prescribed form supported by an independent auditor's report verifying the estimated revenue loss over the construction period.

Mandates the Department of Transportation reimburse eligible local government entities within 90 days of receiving a reimbursement request.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
