Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to increase the pretrial detention deadline from 90 days to 120 days after a detention order is entered.

If a defendant is not brought to trial within the 120-day period, the defendant shall not be denied pretrial release.

Excludes continuances granted at the defendant's request from the 120-day computation period.

Applies to defendants detained under Section 110-6.1 for serious felony offenses where the court finds they pose a threat to public safety.
