IL HB4810

Amends the Fire Sprinkler Contractor Licensing Act to remove specific NICET certification level requirements for individuals performing routine inspection or testing of fire sprinkler systems.

Removes the time-based requirement that individuals possess Level II NICET certification through December 31, 2022, and Level III certification on and after January 1, 2023.

Allows individuals to meet qualifications through current certification by a nationally recognized organization at an "appropriate level," including NICET, ASSE 15010 certification, or completion of an approved sprinkler fitter apprenticeship program.

Requires individual fire sprinkler inspector licenses with photo identification beginning January 1, 2024.

Exempts state employees, municipal/county/fire department employees, and facility engineers performing routine maintenance from licensing requirements while engaged in official duties.
