HB4845 Summary

• Amends the Counties Code to allow county recorders to use physical or electronic images of their stamp to satisfy signature requirements on recorded instruments, effective retroactively to prior dates and prospectively.

• Applies the recorder's stamp image authorization to Section 3-5018 (Traditional fee schedule) and Section 3-5024 (Certificate of time of filing), clarifying that this method is valid for documents recorded before, on, and after the effective date of this amendatory act.

• Maintains existing fee structures for recording deeds, maps, plats, and other real estate documents while codifying that recorder's stamp images constitute valid documentation of recording.
