HB5038 Summary

• Amends the Sex Offender Registration Act to require registration for violations or attempted violations of Section 26-4(a), (a-10), or (a-15) of the Criminal Code of 2012 (unauthorized video recording and live video transmission).

• Applies to knowingly making video records or transmitting live video of another person without consent in restrooms, tanning beds, tanning salons, locker rooms, changing rooms, or hotel bedrooms.

• Applies to knowingly making video records or transmitting live video of another person's intimate parts for viewing purposes without consent.

• Applies to placing or causing placement of devices that make video records or transmit live video in private spaces listed above with intent to record another person without consent.

• Registration requirement takes effect after the effective date of this amendatory act of the 102nd General Assembly.
