IL HB5182

Amends the Counties Code to allow county boards to lease farmland acquired or held by the county for terms up to 99 years upon a majority vote.

Permits farmland to be leased to either public or private entities for the public purpose of financially supporting government operations.

Allows leases on terms and conditions determined by the county board as in the county's best interest, including crop-sharing arrangements.

Requires only a majority vote for farmland leases, creating an exception to the three-fourths vote requirement for other county property leases.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
