IL HB5301

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow the Secretary of State to waive skills tests for commercial driver's license (CDL) applicants who have fire department or fire protection district motor vehicle experience.

Adds fire department and fire protection district motor vehicle experience to the existing waiver provision that already covered military commercial motor vehicle experience.

Waiver is subject to the requirements of 49 CFR 383.77 (federal regulations governing CDL skills test waivers).

Maintains all other CDL qualification standards and testing requirements for applicants without qualifying fire department or military experience.
