Department of Veterans' Affairs designated as Illinois' principal assistance organization for the U.S. Department of Defense SkillBridge program for employers and transitioning service members

Department must establish and maintain SkillBridge certification and similar workforce training programs established by the Department of Defense

Department shall educate businesses, business associations, transitioning service members, and military personnel within Illinois about SkillBridge program benefits and opportunities

Department must assist businesses in obtaining approval for skilled workforce training curricula including apprenticeships, internships, and fellowships under SkillBridge

Department shall match eligible transitioning service members with training opportunities offered by participating businesses to facilitate gainful employment in Illinois upon program completion
