Amends the Volunteer Emergency Worker Job Protection Act to add protections for college students who are volunteer emergency workers at community colleges and public universities in Illinois

Prohibits postsecondary institutions from disciplining students who respond to emergency phone calls or text messages during school hours while acting as volunteer emergency workers

Allows students who are volunteer emergency workers to receive up to 5 excused days from class per academic period when responding to emergencies in their volunteer capacity

Permits institutions to request written verification from a fire department or governmental entity supervisor documenting that the student responded to an emergency and providing the time and date of the incident
