Amends Section 3-120 of the Illinois Pension Code to add a new subsection (c) allowing surviving spouses of police officers to receive survivor pensions if they were married to the officer for at least 5 years prior to death and have attained age 62.

Benefits under the new subsection begin accruing on the effective date of the amendment (102nd General Assembly) or the first day of the month following the police officer's death, whichever is later.

Survivor benefits for spouses qualifying under the new subsection shall terminate no later than 15 years after benefits begin to accrue.

Applies regardless of whether the police officer was in active service on or after the effective date of the amendment.

Exempts the state from reimbursement obligations under the State Mandates Act for implementing this amendment.
