Illinois Student Assistance Commission must annually include information about the Child Care Assistance Program and federal dependent care allowance in materials provided to Monetary Award Program grant-eligible students.

Information must include program eligibility, application instructions, and direct students to the Department of Human Services for Child Care Assistance Program details and financial aid offices for dependent care allowance information.

Participating higher education institutions must provide this notice to all enrolled or accepted students identified as Monetary Award Program-eligible and to any students identified as having dependents.

Institutions may optionally designate a public benefits liaison or single point person to help students obtain eligible public benefits and may provide additional information about institutional or community resources.

Illinois Student Assistance Commission must adopt implementing rules by October 1, 2022, with the act taking effect immediately upon passage.
