Amends the Expressway Camera Act to expand offenses that law enforcement may investigate using expressway cameras in Cook County to include carjacking and other violent crimes, in addition to firearm-related offenses.

Adds new provision explicitly authorizing the Illinois State Police to use expressway camera images to investigate any offense involving a violent crime.

Removes the July 1, 2023 repeal date of the Expressway Camera Act, making the camera program permanent.

Maintains existing prohibition on using expressway camera images to enforce petty offenses.

Continues requirement that program funding come from the Road Fund, subject to appropriation.
