IL HB5785

Establishes a continuing annual appropriation from the General Revenue Fund to the Court of Claims to cover any deficiency between appropriated funds and amounts required to pay Line of Duty Compensation Act claims for each fiscal year.

Requires the Court of Claims to report to legislative leaders and the Governor's Office of Management and Budget whenever the continuing appropriation is used at the conclusion of a fiscal year.

Mandates that any continuing appropriation used in a given fiscal year shall be charged against unexpended Line of Duty award appropriations that subsequently become available.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
