Constitution Day is classified as a commemorative holiday, meaning it is a regular school day where instruction about the holiday may occur, rather than a day when schools must close.

School boards are required to include instructional activities about Constitution Day on September 17 or on the first school day before or after that date.

The State Board of Education shall prepare and make available instructional materials related to Constitution Day for use by school boards.

The bill takes effect July 1, 2023.
