IL HB5833

Increases the cost threshold for competitive bidding requirements on road district contracts from $20,000 to $30,000.

Requires contracts for construction, materials, supplies, new machinery, or equipment exceeding $30,000 to be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after advertising for bids at least 10 days in advance.

Allows contracts to be let without competitive bidding in emergency situations.

Excludes professional services from the competitive bidding requirement.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
